Keep Me O God- A prayer for the disciples of Christ

I will delight in your word O God.  I will keep it before me, meditating on your precepts.  You have shown me your word is more precious than earthly treasures.  You have kept my path consistently leading towards your ways.  You, by your spirit, have given me a new heart.  Your word has washed and cleansed my mind and spirit.  The more I taste of it the more I hunger.  It is my safety in this evil day of distortion, deception and confusion.  Your word is what I measure all and everything by.  It surrounds me like a doting Father, keeping me calm and secure.  I have kept your word safe in my heart, protecting the treasure you have given.  Keep me O God.  Give me strength in the midst of the doubters.  Help me to be strong in the power of your might, by your Holy Spirit.  Help me to be wise and understanding.  Let not the word of your truth and precepts depart from my heart, lips, and feet.  Let it be true as I walk that the world and I have nothing in common.  Only by your grace am I in the world to shine your light and do your will.  Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in me.  Keep me O God.  Wherever I go, let Christ be in me, the word, from the beginning.  I will make every effort to dwell in your word.  Keep me O God...  I understand by holding fast to your word I will be a delight to some and an offense to others.  Keep me O God, fearless and focused, in your word, by your spirit; in love and peace until you return... Amen

Psalm 119:49-56 (message bible)
49-56 Remember what you said to me, your servant—
I hang on to these words for dear life!
These words hold me up in bad times;
    yes, your promises rejuvenate me.
The insolent ridicule me without mercy,
but I don’t budge from your revelation.
I watch for your ancient landmark words,
and know I’m on the right track.
But when I see the wicked ignore your directions,
    I’m beside myself with anger.
I set your instructions to music
and sing them as I walk this pilgrim way.
I meditate on your name all night, God,
    treasuring your revelation, O God.
Still, I walk through a rain of derision
because I live by your Word and counsel.

SHED RELIGION AND TRULY STAND FOR JESUS CHRIST!!!

Welcome To The Shed!

This is a place for those who are really passionate in following and being a disciple of Jesus Christ.  You have decided at some point, not my will, but your will be done Father.  Through many trials, test and sufferings you have found that your faith in Jesus Christ is the only thing that really matters on the earth.  You have come to know that you were not born to live a life of self pleasing and self worship.  All those things you held dearly at one point and time seems so meaningless at this point in comparison to the great will of God spelled out in His word. You no longer want to continue to break God's heart with a preoccupation of your own selfish wants and needs in this life.

Romans 5:1-21
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. ...

Realizing that Almighty God created you for His purpose and not your own;  you can see this now because you have come to know just how much He loves you.  How much He desires to spend eternity with you and not only you, but everyone around you.  As you have gone through His word you can now see how He has spent love, chasing mankind on the wave of free will, to love Him back unconditionally.  Oh yes, He could, but He will not force you to love Him.  This you must do willingly on your own.  With you in mind, He waits patiently with an abudance of grace and mercy always communicating to us that it is never too late to turn to Him.  No matter what I've done, God is ready and willing to forgive me and accept me into His Kingdom.  When others are quick to remind me of what I was, He does not.  When my family can't forgive me of my present and past wrongs, He does.  Those times when I felt really lonely and alone, He was there.  When I had no idea where my next meal was coming from, He provided.

Romans 8:37-39
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
1John 4:16
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

He has led me to know that religion can't save me and transform me, only His love and Spirit can.  He assures me that I am not crazy when I see the many contrasts to His word in the church building.  Through my frustration of witnessing so many contradictions, even in the pulpit, He has given me the greatest measuring stick.  Therefore, I will not bow down to man's wisdom and religiosity, but try every spirit and look to Jesus.  Jesus is the greatest example, God in this flesh, still with us in Spirit, and showing us the way.  Whenever the spirit of confusion is brought on by Satan, man, and this world's revelation, I look to Jesus and right away everything is clear.

Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
James 1:22-27
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing. If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. ...

Finally, day by day, I shed the religious attacks that stand in the way of God's grace for my life.  I rebuke them without shame and lift up the name that is above every name.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.  It is in Him and Him only, by God's grace, that can set and keep me free.  There are no works I can do that are worthy of separating me from God's grace and mercy.  My works are as filthy rags.  Help me everyday, oh God, to know that it is you and you alone who keeps me and not my will but yours, forever and ever.

SHED RELIGION AND TRULY STAND FOR JESUS CHRIST!!!

Romans 8:31-39

New King James Version (NKJV)

God’s Everlasting Love

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”[a]
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What does Christ have to do with Halloween?

What can I say about Christians celebrating Halloween...  With a big sigh, it really grieves my spirit and I'm sure it does the same to the Holy Ghost.  I guess it simply comes down to how serious we are as believers about not conforming to this world.  The bible clearly tells us that Satan is the god of this world and that we are not to conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
2 Corinthians 4:4
New Living Translation (NLT)
Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

Romans 12:2
New King James Version (NKJV)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what isthat good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Besides that, we should really do more homework and know the origin of Halloween.  When something secular is presented to us, let's (as Believers) not be so quick to embrace it without questions.

1 John 4:1-5
New International Version (NIV)
On Denying the Incarnation
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.

Here is a good article concerning believers and Halloween...

Please consider what you have read here today, consider what you are teaching your children.  We are suppose to be Ambassadors for Christ, representing Him and God's Kingdom in the earth.  How will people know unless they see our example...  May God bless you and keep you.
